Lorna J. Herndon, 88, of Elyria died May 26, 2022 at Oneill Healthcare, North Olmsted. She was born April 22, 1934 in Lumberport, WV. and was a graduate of Kingwood High School in Kingwood, WV where she lived for several years. For the past sixty years Lorna has been a resident of Elyria. She was a member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church, Avon Lake. Lorna is survived by her husband of sixty- nine years, John Robert Herndon; daughter, Kathy (John) Slotwinski of Elyria; son, Scott Herndon of Lake Worth, Fl.; grandchildren, Robert (Halley) and Matthew Herndon and Carly (Nick) Slotwinski; great grandson, Owen Herndon; step-great grandchildren, Ava Mugford, Emma Geiger, Andres Mercado , step -grandchildren Bethany(Dan) Geiger, Rachel (Tim) Naftzger, Janine (Nestor) Mercado and a daughter-in-law, Wendy Herndon. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Anthony Herndon in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Leota Mae Hurst and brother Ronald Hurst. Burial will be at Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, WV.
