Condolences on the passing of Mrs. Smith from the Goodman family. Saddened to hear the last of the original 'Overlook Parents' is gone. The end of an era. Plenty of great memories of both your Mom & Dad.
My condolences to the family. "Grandma Lorna," as young Stirling and young Greg called her, was a very kind person and I enjoyed interacting with her when I served as a "mother's helper"/"grandmother's helper" after school during my high school years (1982-1986). She was very proud of her family; I remember seeing high school yearbook photos of them on the wall in the family room where I would play with Stirling and sometimes Greg. She always offered me a snack while I was there and once offered me dinner when I was asked to stay later on, as it happens, a Friday during Lent. It amuses me to recall that she was startled when I told her that I couldn't eat the hamburger she offered because it was a Friday in Lent and as a practicing Catholic I had to abstain from meat. Realizing at the time that she was not Catholic, I reassured her that the offer was not offensive :-) She and "Grandpa Fred" were gentle souls will now be together again.
So sorry for your loss. Your Mom was one of my favorite Moms. She will be missed.
