Lydia Bostic Obituary
Lydia Ruth Bostic (nee McBride), age 85, of Elyria, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, after a lengthy illness, at Life Care Center of Elyria. An intelligent, witty woman with a beautiful singing voice, who also had a love for music; she was an almost constant reader of novels, history, etc. and her favorite author was Maeve Binchy. Lydia worked hard in the 70s and 80s to earn her GED & a college education in social work, at which point she left property management and applied herself to social work and home health care. She received joy at gifting friends, family & others particularly with devotional and inspirational items. Lydia is survived by her children James Douglas McBride; and from her first marriage to Jim Kelsey (deceased) Elane, Duane & Curtiss Kelsey. Additionally, she had several grandchildren; great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard R. & Lydia R. McBride (nee Erdmann); husband, James Addison Bostic and brothers, Bob, Richard, Leroy & Theodore. A memorial service will be held at a later date in East Tennessee where her children live. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Lydia’s name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 368105-9959.
