Margaret A. LewisMargaret A. Lewis (nee: Hinter), 86, of Elyria, died August 4, 2018 at her home. Margaret was born February 25, 1932 in Weston, WV. For thirty years she was employed as a nurse’s aide in the maternity ward at Elyria Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1984, and later for fifteen years as a greeter at Sam’s Club in Elyria. She was a member of Elyria American Legion Post 12 Ladies Auxiliary and Community of Faith United Church of Christ. She was a former member of Lake Avenue United Church of Christ where she sang in the choir and was active in Division B of the church.Margaret is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Monica A. Gillen of Elyria and a son, David (Anne) Lewis of Pittsford, NY; grandchildren, Leslee (Chris) Koleszar, Craig (Marie) Gillen, Kate (Frank) Stoy and Brian Lewis; great grandchildren, Jakob, Ryan and Samuel Koleszar and Adelaide Stoy.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin E. Lewis in 1992; grandchildren, Keith and Abby; parents, Leopold and Hattie Hinter and sisters, Mary, Sophie, Virginia, Juanita and Betty and a brother, Bill.Friends will be received Tuesday August 7, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A service will be Wednesday August 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Community of Faith United Church of Christ, 9715 East River Street, Elyria. Reverend Kathryn Ketchum will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to Community of Faith United Church of Christ.
