Margaret Thomasko Obituary
Margaret J. Thomasko (nee: Peter), 88, of Amherst, died April 1, 2016 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain. She was born October 17, 1927 in Portage, Pennsylvania and was a 1945 graduate of Elyria High School. She was a resident of Elyria from 1943 until moving to Amherst in 1961. Margie had been employed as a secretary for Amherst Metal Products in Amherst and also for Concrete Masonary in Elyria. For twenty five years she was secretary to the Superintendent of Clearview Local School District retiring in 1988. Margie and her husband operated Elmar Dog Obedience School in Lorain and also showed Hungarian Vizsla Dogs at shows in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio. She was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Amherst, a former member of Magyar United Church of Christ, Elyria and a volunteer at Mercy New Life Hospice. Margie is survived by her brother, William (Sharon) Peter of Elyria and nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. Thomasko in 1995; parents, John and Julia Peter; brothers, John, Joseph, Louis, Julius, Frank and Robert Peter and a sister, Irene Horvath.Friends will be received Monday April 4, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria Friends will also be received Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of a 11:00 service in the funeral home with Reverend David G. Plant officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peters United Church of Christ, 582 Church Street, Amherst, Ohio, 44001.
