To my dearest mother: There are not enough words to describe my gratitude and love! You gave me life! From that moment on, you have selflessly given to me everything an infant, toddler, boy, teen and man could ever need and more! I have said many times before in greeting cards to you and dad but I will say it again... I am the man and father I am today because of you two! You both have taught me right from wrong, compassion, hard work, dignity, perseverance, empathy, restraint and most importantly, honor, love and respect. It is in all these traits learned from you that I hope to teach to my children so they too may pass them on to all those who's lives they touch as well! You have been the greatest mom that anyone could ever ask for! You've been my teacher, my nurse, my chef, a seamstress, a counselor, our housekeeper, a preacher, a babysitter and even the warden at times! These were just a few of the many hats you wore while you've cared for us... Even though you may have, I don't recall ever hearing one complaint about all that you've done us! You did everything for your family because you love us! You were a truly amazing woman! The respect I have for you is unequaled! You inspire me! I am comforted knowing that all the pain and difficulties you've lived and battled with have been replaced with comfort, peace and joy! I know that you have been reunited with grandma and grampa, all your brothers and even other friends and family that have all been patiently waiting for you to arrive! I look forward to the day when I, too, will be called from this earth to be reunited with you and eventually dad and those of my brothers and sister that should leave before me...but for now, I still have a few things to teach MY children. My only wish is that I can be half the parent to them that you and dad have been to me! I love you mom and will miss you dearly but will talk to you often! If I happen to forget, I know you'll remind me somehow!!! Your "Little" boy...
I consider Peg a life-long friend. She and I spent many summer evenings talking in our driveways. For some reason we never got out chairs because it was going to be a short conversation, but never was. We bowled together for years, went crafting with our Welcome Wagon friends, lunched together. She had a smile for everyone. Lets talk bakery! Our family couldnt wait for holidays because her cookie trays were amazing, especially her lady fingers. She will have a place in my heart forever. Rest In Peace dear friend. Sue De fife and family
God must have been planning a party A really formal to-do. He wanted the best for His pastry chef That's when He thought of you. I picture Him saying "Enough, my dear. It's time to come home, be pain-free. Your family and friends will miss you But they know you'll be safe with Me." I see you now in that golden kitchen To your elbows in flour and dough Cooking the pudding, whipping up cream Mini swans and eclairs steal the show!
