Marian Charl Powell (nee: Bobbitt), 92, of Elyria, died October 31, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Elyria. She was born July 21, 1922 in Buckhannon, WV. Marian was a graduate of Nicholas County High School in Summersville, WV and attended Marshall University and Huntington Business School. Before retiring in 1982, she was employed as office manager for the Transportation Department of the Summit County Board of Mental Retardation. Marian was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Akron and was a long time resident of Cuyahoga Falls before moving to Elyria in 1988. Marion is survived by a daughter, Charlene (Don) Hartman of Elyria; son, Michael (Kate Kilbane) Powell of Chesterland; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her former husband, Warder Powell; parents, L. O. and Flo Bobbitt and a half brother, Lee Otis Bobbitt, Jr.Burial will be in Walker Cemetery, Summersville, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to Nicholas County Historical and Genealogical Society, PO Box 443 Summersville, WV 26651. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria, Ohio.
