Marie Edwards Obituary
Marie Ann Edwards (nee Corrao), 86, of Elyria, died January 22, 2022 at her home after a brief illness. She was born May 1, 1935 in Lorain and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Lorain. She was employed for 30 years as a librarian at Lorain County Community College, retiring in 1997. Marie was a member of St. Jude Church, Elyria where she was a volunteer with Helping Hands Food Pantry. She was also a member of Elyria United Polish Club and the Red Hat Society and was a Queen Mum of the local chapter. She enjoyed gardening and exercising. Marie is survived by a daughter, Karen (Shawn) Smith and a son, Ron (Miriam) Edwards, both of Elyria; granddaughters, Lauren (Alex) Braly, Nicole (Zach) Gress, Kaylie (fiance Dan) Smith and Jessica (Tony) Kolek; and great-grandchildren, Connor and Dylan Braly. She is now reunited with her husband of 54 years, Raymond who died in 2011. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Edwards in 2011; brother, Joseph Corrao and a sister, Patricia Ruth Strickler. Friends will be received Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral mass will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 27, 2022 at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria. Reverend Father Joseph Scalco, CSJ will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
