Marilyn A. Hadaway (nee Dunlap), 84, of Elyria, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.She was born July 25, 1928 in New London, Ohio and was a 1946 graduate of Elyria High School.Marilyn received her bachelors degree in Education from Kent State University and her masters degree from Cleveland State University.Most of her teaching career was at Windsor Elementary School in Elyria, where she taught for 25 years, retiring in 1991. She was an enthusiastic bridge player and enjoyed playing golf and traveling.Marilyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard J. Hadaway; daughters Gail (Timothy) Haywood of LaGrange and Nancy Hadaway of Ashland; a son Richard (Patti nee Peters) Hadaway of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren Tom and Emily Hadaway and a brother Charles (Betty) Dunlap of Lakeland, FL.She was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Ruth Dunlap and a step sister Rita Koteles.A memorial service will be Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Washington Avenue Christian Church, 301 Washington Ave., Elyria, OH with Reverend Janet A. Long officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Avenue Christian Church or New Life Hospice, 3700 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053.
