Marnell J. Dupont (nee Ratchford), 90, of Elyria, died March 25, 2014 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home in Avon. She was born September 13, 1923 in Dayton, OH, where she graduated from Julie Anne High School. During World War II, she was employed as a civilian office manager at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and had been a neighborhood chairman of the Girl Scouts. Marnell enjoyed all sports and was a fan of University of Dayton basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. She also had been able to enjoy her lifelong dream trip to Ireland. Marnell is survived by a son Robert W. (Helen) Dupont and a daughter Judith Ann Curtis, both of Elyria and grandchildren Michelle, Jon and Brett (Jenny) Dupont. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Marie Ratchford. A service will be Friday, March 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the mausoleum chapel of Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lorain County Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria 44035; Girl Scouts of N.E. Ohio, 6111 S.
