Mary J. Rodgers (nee: Beltz), 69, of Elyria, died July 4, 2017 in her home. She was born February 7, 1948 in Canton, Ohio, and was a graduate of Elyria High School.She was formerly employed as a security officer at University Hospitals, Elyria Medical Center from where she retired. After retiring, she received a degree as an Electrologist from Lorain County Community College. Mary was a breeder of French Poodles and enjoyed oil painting, crafts, sewing and reading. Mary is survived by a daughter, Selina T. Zeviar of Mantua, Ohio; son, Lewis “Trip” Rodgers III (wife Sue) of Chatham, Illinois; grandchildren, Steven Treadwell and Lauren and Erin Rodgers and a sister, Emmy Clark of Newark, Ohio.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Rodgers in 2007 and parents, Milton and Frances Beltz.Friends will be received Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Reverend Roger S. Loomis, Chaplin of Crossroads Hospice will officiate.
