Mary “Dede” Keyser Harmon (nee Smith), 92, of Elyria, died January 5, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born October 28, 1924 in Elmira, NY and was a graduate of Southside High School in Elmira. After graduation, she moved with her family to Elyria where she was employed at Colson Company and Trio Products. Dede was a member of First United Methodist Church and Elizabeth Stevens Society of the church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. Mary is survived by her daughter, Marianne (Lynn) Jalowiec of Grafton; grandsons, Kyle Jalowiec and Cory (Amanda) Jalowiec; a granddaughter, Chelsea Young and extended family Dave and Kathy Allen, Doug and Denise Gillette and stepsons, Carl and Jerry (Jill) Harmon. She was preceded in death by husbands, Charles T. “Cap” Keyser in 1980 and John S. Harmon in 1993; daughter, Kathyanne Allen in 2002; grandson, Ian Young in 2014 and parents Henry and Ramona Smith, Sr.; sister, Joann Meredith and a brother, Henry A. Smith, Jr. Friends will be received Wednesday January 11, 2017 from 4:00 PM until the time of a 6:30 PM closing prayer at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria, 44035 or First United Methodist Church, 312 Third St., Elyria, 44035.
