Matthew K. Ruth Matthew K. Ruth, 42, of Elyria, died, July 21, 2019 after an illness of several months. He was born November 20, 1976 in Elyria and was a 1995 graduate of Elyria High School. For the past twelve years Matt was employed as workshop supervisor for The Cuyahoga Group in North Ridgeville. Throughout his lifetime Matt enjoyed music and played electric and bass guitar with several local bands. He was also an accomplished artist, expressing himself through his art. He was former president of a Wednesday nite bowling league where he rolled his first 300 game. Matt was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Matt is survived by a son, Kaleb Sebastian Ruth; mother, Judith A. Ruth; brother, Adam G. Ruth; niece, Lillith Ruth; godmother, Donna L. (Jack) Fiscus all of Elyria; numerous cousins and his girlfriend, Airielle Banaszak of Brooklyn, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald R. Ruth in 2009 and grandparents, Milton and Dorothy Lindsay and Myrle and Laura Ruth. Friends will be received Friday July 26, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 295 College Park Drive, Elyria. Friends will also be received Saturday July 27, 2019 from 9:00 am until the time of a 10:00 am funeral service in the church with Reverend Laurie A. Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or a charity of choice. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria.
