Matthew Elkins Obituary
Matthew L. Elkins, 32, of Elyria died November 1, 2016 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center as a result of a heroin overdose. Matt was born June 25, 1984 in Elyria and was a life long sports fan. Chewbub especially enjoyed watching and talking with friends about NASCAR, football, basketball and baseball. Matthew is survived by his parents, Sandra and Tom Taylor of Elyria; grandmother, Peggy Schoger of North Ridgeville; sister, Jamie; nephew, Dustin; step-sister, Lindsey Varga; aunts; cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by a step-brother, Cory Taylor in 2015. Friends will be received Tuesday November 8, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the time of a 1:00 PM service at Cathedral of Life, 5375 Jaycox Road, North Ridgeville. Pastor Mike Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Metro Health Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine, Project Dawn, 2500 Metro Health Drive, Cleveland 44109. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria.
