Melissa Jane Tyler, 36, of Elyria, lost her 28 year battle with Type 1 diabetes September 25, 2021. She was born June 10, 1985 in Elyria, attended Elyria High School and was a 2004 graduate of JVS. She also graduated from Ohio Tech School with an Automotive Science Certification and LCCC with associate degrees in arts and science. Melissa had been employed as an LPN at Danbury Senior Living in North Ridgeville and Brookdale Westlake Village and Bath. She was currently working towards becoming a Registered Nurse. She loved life and spending time with her boys and nephews. Melissa was known for her sense of humor and making the most of every celebration. She always made sure to tell you she loved you before she left. Melissa is survived by her sons, Charles Stowers III and Griffin Aguilar; parents, Tracy and Marilyn (nee Kastler) Tyler; sister, Heather (Brandon) Mercer; boyfriend, Nick Aguilar and his son Silas; and nephews, Ethan, Alex and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ida and Adelbert Kastler and paternal grandparents, Elmer and Eileen Tyler. A lighthearted, kid friendly celebration of life will be held at Peace Mennonite Church, 9300 West Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 2-4 pm.
