Melvin Sayers Obituary
Melvin T. Sayers, 96 of North Olmsted and a former longtime Elyria resident died Saturday June 9, 2012 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange. He was born October 4, 1915 in Elyria and was a 1932 graduate of Elyria High School. During WWII he worked at the Lorain Shipyards. Mel was a millwright and employed for 27 years at Fruehauf Trailer Company in Avon Lake and then for 10 years at the Ford Cleveland Casting Plant in Brookpark, Ohio, retiring in 1981. His interests were playing golf and caring for his home and yard. Mel is survived by a son, Thomas M. (Rita) Sayers of LaGrange and his children, Leanne (Jeff) Glowaski, Nikole (Shane) Blankenship and Monica (Joel) Ruth and a son, Daniel S. Sayers of North Olmsted and his children, Geoffrey, Danielle and Christopher; several great grandchildren and stepsons, Bruce, Roger and Donald Joseph. He was preceded in death by wives, Susan B. Sayers (nee: McCully) in1964 and Carol Joseph Sayers in 1995; son, William A. in 1946; brother, Delbert and a granddaughter.A graveside service will be Monday, 11:00 a.m. July 9, 2012 at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township with Reverend Ralph Krall officiating.
