Michael A. Baker, 63, of Elyria, died November 29, 2013 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.He was born November 4, 1950 in Closplint, Kentucky. Michael was a 1970 graduate of Elyria High School, where he lettered in football and wrestling. He continued to support Elyria High School athletics and assisted in coaching youth football. He enjoyed walking and attending jazz festivals, collecting albums and was also a student of history and politics. Until illness forced him to retire in 2010, he had been employed for 32 years at Modern Tool and Die Company in Valley City. With his family, he had been co-owner of the former Elliotts Fish Market in Elyria.Michael is survived by a son Jeremy Baker of Elyria; grandchildren Brendan, Marquez and ShaNika; sister Kimberly (Jeffrey) Allgood of Elyria; nieces and nephews Anishia, Chris, Cassi, Christina and Craig C.J., Jr.; sister-in-law Denise Morris; family friend Mary Ann West; aunts Joyce (William) Carson and Norma Riley and uncles Charles June and Wayne Riley.He was preceded in death by his father Roy Elliott, Jr. in 2011; mother Mary Louise Elliott in 1999 and brothers Craig Elliott, Sr. in 1994 and Roy Elliott, III in 1978.Friends will be received Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Allen Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
