Michael J. McNulty, 60, a lifelong resident of Elyria, died August 14, 2016 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a brief illness.He was born January 31, 1956 in Elyria and was a 1974 graduate of Elyria High School. For many years, he worked as a trim carpenter for Kopf Builders. Mike was an avid sportsman including elk, turkey and pheasant hunting and competed in numerous bass tournaments. He especially enjoyed fishing trips with his father and brother to Lake Okeechobee, FL and spent many hours at Beaver Creek Hunt Club with his labs.Mike is survived by his mother Erma J. McNulty of Elyria; sister Linda (Mike) Surdock of Grafton; brother Jim (Beth) McNulty of Elyria; nephews, Ryan (Dana) McNulty and Adam and Bret Surdock; a niece, Kaci Surdock and great nieces Kendall and Teagan McNulty.He was preceded in death by his father, James N. McNulty.A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
