Michael Radosevich Obituary
Michael Radosevich, 95, of Elyria, died February 24, 2021. He was born July 7, 1925 in Huntington Township, Ohio. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1943 and was also a graduate of Western Pennsylvania Horological Institute and Gemological Institute of America. Mike and his wife, June, owned and operated Michael Jewelers in Elyria for over 20 years, retiring in 1984. During WWII, Mike served in the US Navy as a radarman in the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters. His destroyer was involved in the signing of the Peace Treaty in Tokyo Bay. He was a member of the Navy Drum and Bugle Corps. He was also a 60 year member of First United Methodist Church and a former charter member of Community Methodist Church. Mike was a 70 year member of Elyria American Legion Post #12 and also a member Elyria Elks Lodge #465, Noon Lions Club, Oberlin Golf Club, Elyria Lodge #787 F.&A.M. and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland. For many years, he and his wife spent their winters in Jensen Beach, FL. Mike enjoyed bowling and in 1963 rolled a 300 game. He was also a golfer and in 1992 had a hole in one. He was an avid fisherman and had fished all the great lakes and several oceans. Other interests included hunting and gardening. Mike is survived by his son, Mark A. (Anne) Radosevich of Elyria; grandsons, Gregory, Alek, Daniel and Elijh; great-grandson, Jack; niece, Dee Andrus and daughter-in-law, Judy Radosevich. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, June A. (nee Hoy) in 2015; son, M. Scott Radosevich in 2019; grandson, Michael; parents, Elijh “Alek” and Karoline Radosevich; brothers, George, Walter and Nick; sister, Olga Franta; and a daughter-in-law, Terri Radosevich. Friends will be received Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 10:30 am until the time of a noon service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Pastor Bob Wickens will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township where Elyria Amvets Post 32 Honor Guard will present military honors. Covid-19 precautions will be observed, face masks are required.
