Milan Komadina, 69, of Lorain, died, suddenly Friday, February 8, 2013, in the emergency room at Mercy Medical Center, Lorain. He was born September 11, 1943 in Lorain, Ohio and was a 41 year employee at U.S. Steel in Lorain, retiring in 2012. Milan was a car enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows and spending time with grandchildren. He is a member of Lorain Moose Lodge and Amherst Eagles Club. Milan is survived by his companion, of 30 years, JoAnn Thurston (nee: Malick); her son, Michael, his wife Kathi and their two children; a sister, Sohie Mendek, of Lorain and Milans Golden Retriever, Wilson.He was preceded in death by his parents, Milan and Dorothy Komadina and a sister, Helen.Friends will be received Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Thursday February 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Reverend Father Richard Hudak, Pastor of St. Anthony Of Padua, will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Elyria Animal Protective League, 8303 Murrary Ridge Road, Elyria, 44035 or a charity of choice.
