Mildred S. Getty, 102, died, Monday, February 4, 2013 at Wesleyan Village, Elyria. She was born October 2, 1910 in Arcadia, Pennsylvania and was a 1929 graduate of Montgomery Township High School. She had been a 57 year resident of Oberlin before moving to Wesleyan Village in 1998. Mildred was a member of First United Methodist Church of Oberlin and a Past Matron of Pansy Chapter, Order Of Eastern Star # 34 in Oberlin. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, reading and traveling.Mildred is survived sons, James J. (Carol) Getty of Kansas City, Missouri and Eugene C. (Barbara) Getty of Medina, Ohio; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson and a sister, Vivian Small of Erie, PennsylvaniaShe was preceded in death by husband, of 72 years, James A. Getty in 2005; daughter, Greta Singleton in 1994; parents, John and Lorella Sheesley and sisters, Laura Fleming, Lucille Fuller and Pauline Todd.A funeral service will be Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of Oberlin, 45 South Professor Street, Oberlin. Reverend Beth McKee, Chaplin of Wesleyan Village will officiate. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin. Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria is in charge of arrangements.
