Mona Akers Obituary
Mona G. Akers, 79, of Lorain and formerly of Elyria, died July 19, 2021 at Mercy Health-Lorain Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born July 3, 1942 in Elkins, WV. For many years, Mona had been a home healthcare worker. She attended Midway Baptist Church in Elyria, enjoyed jewelry shopping, playing bingo, spending time with family, cookouts, and playing poker. Mona is survived by her husband, Ronald G.; sons, Mike, Jeff (Theresa), Ronald Jr. (Cassandra) and Brian Akers; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Calvin and Delbert Streets; sisters, Sommie Kruder, Kelly Renforth, Diane Riccardi and Norma Streets; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Anna (nee Biller) Streets; daughter-in-law, Diana Akers; great-granddaughter, Chloe; and brothers, Ralph, Kenny, Bob, Ted and Randel Streets. Friends will be received Friday, July 30, 2021 from 4:00 pm until the time of a 6:00 pm memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.
