It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Nancy Ann Dennison (Hawk), 89, much beloved wife, mother, and devoted friend to all those lives she touched. She passed away peacefully with family at her side June 6, 2021, from congestive heart failure. She was born September 10, 1931, in Elyria, Ohio to adoring parents William Mayberry and Mary R. Hawk. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert W. Dennison; her son, William C. Dennison; daughters, Vickie Dennison and Cindy Schreiber (David); and grandchildren, Amanda and Christopher Mowery (Annie), Brandon (Casey) Schreiber, Amanda (Matt) Parsons, Valerie (Jeremy) Sandusky, Leah Schreiber; and seven great-grandchildren, Sam, Luke, Zoey, Owen, Norah, Ava and Chase; her brother-in-law, Thomas W. Dennison. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, her brother Jerry M. Hawk and sister-in-law Barbara Wales Dennison. Nancy attended Elyria High School, Elyria Ohio and then Oberlin Business School. In 1950, she married her high school sweetheart. Nancy and Bob loved the west and moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1975 where she worked at DeVry Institute for many years as the receptionist. She loved the students and faculty and remained working into her 80’s. Nancy also was a lifelong Ohio State University football fan and loved her dogs, Abby and Bandit. A memorial service will be Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 312 Third Street, Elyria. Reverend W. Kent Joy will officiate. Burial will follow in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, North Olmsted. There are no gallery images.
