I was blessed to have Nan Livergood as a speech therapist at Allen School from 1969-1974. I will never forget her patience, kindness, and encouragement to me. As time moved forward, I served as Chaplain at the Elyria United Methodist Village and became reacquainted with Nan in the 1990’s when she served as a parish visitor for First Congregational Church-Elyria. An extraordinary woman of strength, determination, and grace. Having her as a speech therapist was transformation for my life! Rest in peace my friend. While our paths have drifted farther apart over the years, you will always be a part of my fondest memories. Arriving in Elyria as a novice Speech Pathologist, you and Art took me under your wings and made me feel welcomed. The two of you were a blessing in my life. I hope you know how much you were appreciated. As you guided me through a new job in a new community, I soon realized what a rare angel you were. You always gave so freely of yourself and your time in such a considerate, thoughtful, unselfish way. You put others before yourself and shared with an open and loving heart. Your kindness made a difference in the lives of so many families. I thank you for being such an amazing and wonderful person. You are and will continue to be missed by many.
