Norman R. White, Jr., 75, of Elyria, died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at home surrounded by family following a long illness.He was born June 28, 1941 in Oak Hill, WV and has been an Elyria resident since 1972.Norm was employed at Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake for 36 years, retiring in 2007.He was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather and great grandfather who always put family first. Norm enjoyed country and bluegrass music, coin collecting, feeding the local squirrels and birds and spending time with his family.Norms greatest achievement is the legacy of the many lives he touched by his endless strength, unconditional love, wisdom and great sense of humor.Norman is survived by daughters Dana J. White and Dianna Hatfield, both of Elyria, Darlene D. Lee of Shanghai, China and Donna R. Wiley of Merrimac, MA; a son Norman R. White, III of Elyria; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; mother and stepfather, Pauline and Pete Castellano of Elyria; sisters Drema Massey of Grafton and Anita Arnett of Elyria; brothers Arthur White of WV and Les White of Elyria; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Cathy Hardin of Elyria and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Brenda J. White in 2014; an infant son, Richard B. White in 1962; father Norman R. White, Sr. and brothers Elbert and William White.Friends will be received Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 2 p.m. until the time of a 5:00 p.m. service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Reverend James Smucker, Chaplain of Mercy New Life Hospice will officiate.
