Olga Porter Obituary
Olga M. Porter (nee: Zukowski), 92, of Elyria died November 4, 2016. She was born March 15, 1924 in Chillicothe, Ohio and was a 1942 graduate of South Amherst High School. Olga had been employed as personnel director at Invacare in Elyria and continued her career as a realtor at Russell Realty. She is a member of St. Mary Church, a former member of the altar and rosary society of the church and an honorary member of the Elyria United Polish Club. During the 1950s Olga raced stock cars in the Powder Puff Division at Lorain County Speedway. Other interests included golf, bowling, sewing, baking, cooking and following the activities of her grandchildren. Olga is survived by children, Jeanne (George McGranor) Porter of Grafton, William C. Porter of Louisville, Kentucky, Thomas S. (Beverly) Porter, Cynthia A. Porter and Richard A. (Rebecca) Porter all of Elyria; grandchildren, David, Matthew, Elizabeth, Travis, Alexa, Christina, Cara, Erica and Trent and great grandchildren, Addison and Jackson.She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty seven years, William K. Porter in 2007; parents, Harry and Agnes Zukowski; brothers, Chester and Richard Zukowski and sisters, Virginia Gambish and Marjorie Albright. Friends will be received Tuesday November 8, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday November 9, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria. The Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
