Orena Mary Thiery Beavor, 103, of Eaton Township, died Friday, September 14, 2012 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by family.She was born July 27, 1909 in Toledo, Ohio to Theodore and Mary Thiery and had lived in Lorain and Elyria prior to moving to Eaton Township in 1946.She worked at The Palace Theater in Lorain, where she was the first person to sell admission tickets and was crowned Miss Lorain of 1927 and 1928. She was also formerly employed at Richmond Brothers and Troxel Company in Elyria.Orena and her husband had owned and operated Chuck Beavors Country Market in Oberlin. Mrs. Beavor was the oldest member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton and loved her family, animals, flag and country.Orena is survived by a daughter Bonnie (Thomas) McCartney of Eaton Township; son Tom (Toni) Beavor of Daufuskie Island, SC; grandchildren: Kelly (Paul) Demyan, Shannon McCartney, Brigid McCartney, Derrek (Karen) Beavor and Chris (Holly) Beavor; great grandchildren: Jacob Demyan, Grace Demyan, Joshua Counts, Ryan Beavor, Ashlyn Beavor, Charles Trent Beavor and Anderson Beavor.She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Charles F. Beavor in 2004; three brothers and two sisters.Friends will be received Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 9 a.m. until the time of a 9:30 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 708 Erie St., Grafton, OH. The Reverend John P. Seabold will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Francis Animal Sanctuary, 12516 Cherry Rd., Vermilion, OH 44089 or New Life Hospice, 5255 N.
