Patricia Fraunfelder, 88, of Oberlin, passed away peacefully Monday, January 18, 2021, at Welcome Nursing Home. Pat was born July 22, 1932, in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of the late Lloyd and Pat Kaiser (nee Johnson). Pat was a graduate of M.B. Johnson School of Nursing, starting her career as a nurse at Allen Memorial Hospital where she later would serve in the role of Director of Nurses. She retired from the same hospital after more than 40 years of service. Family was Pat’s passion and delight. She met and married the love of her life, Robert Fraunfelder 67 years ago. They enjoyed traveling together throughout the country, spending a lot of time on the shores of Lake Erie and the Marblehead lighthouse. She especially loved spending time in Florida during the winter. She was an avid bird watcher with many bird feeders in her yard. Pat was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “MaMa”. She had a vivacious personality and instilled strong values in her family that have served them well. Morgan horses played a significant part of her life. With her husband she owned and operated Hi-De Morgan Horse farm, traveling throughout the country proudly watching her children and grandchildren show horses. She was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church, Oberlin where she served in many di?erent ministry e?orts as it suited her servant heart. Pat is survived by her daughters, Robin Jones (Ken), Debbie Burt (Mike), Heidi Scholl (Scott); grandchildren, Michelle, Brian, Eric, Erin, Caitlyn, Miranda; seven great- grandchildren; and a sister, Kathy Knipper. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Fraunfelder; parents; sister, Judy Blong; and a brother Clayton Kaiser. A memorial service will be held later in the year. Special thanks and appreciation to all the sta? at Welcome Nursing Home for their kindness and loving care during the last 18 months of her life.
