Patrick Verlotti Obituary
Patrick W. Verlotti, 90, of Elyria, died Friday, December 7, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 23, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, where he was a 1939 graduate of Northern High School. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radio operator on a B-25 during WWII. He had been employed at Cadillac, DeSoto and Ford Motor Companies and Kelvinator Appliance, all in Detroit. Pat was then employed as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration from 1955 until retiring from The Oberlin Center in1974. He was a member of St. Jude Church, Elyria American Legion # 12, Elyria V.F.W. # 1079, Huntington AmVets # 162 and The Elyria Elks Club. He enjoyed golf and bowling, but the most important part of his life was the time spent with family. Pat is survived by his wife of 66 years, June Verlotti (nee: Payne); son, Patrick R. (Jean) Verlotti of Wellington; daughters, Antoinette Toni (Delmar) Ott of Elyria, Sharon (Michael) Klupenger of Henrietta Township and Maryann Verlotti of Elyria; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Eugene, Richard and Ronny; sisters, Rosemary, Delores, Bernice and Jean.He was preceded in death by parents, Vito and Antoinette Verlotti; brothers, Dominic, Joseph, Gerald and Sonny; sisters, Eleanor, Gloria and Emma and a granddaughter, Anna Kelley.Friends will be received Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10:00 AM, December 12, 2012 at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria. Reverend Father James R. Becherer will be the celebrant. Entombment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Avon, Ohio where Elyria V.F.W. # 1079 will present military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Elyria Salvation Army, 716 Broad Street, Elyria or Hospice Of The Western Reserve, 2173 North Ridge Road East, Suite H, Lorain, OH, 44055.
