Peggy M. King (nee: Hendrix)Peggy M. King (nee: Hendrix), 91, of Elyria, died November 18, 2017 in her home. She was born May 31, 1926 in Bloomington, Indiana. Peggy was a graduate of LPN School of Elyria and was employed as an LPN. She received a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Kent State University. She was very proud of the fact that she was in the fourth graduating class of the KSU School of Nursing in 1974. She received a Masters Degree from Cleveland State University. Peggy pursued a degree in nutrition at East Carolina University and wrote a book on nutrition and traveled extensively giving seminars at RV rallys. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elyria where she sang in the choir and participated in Stephen Ministries. She was also a member of Stone City Chapter No. 325 Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean and traveling overseas. She also had eclectic collection of Donald Duck memorabilia.Peggy is survived by her husband of seventy years, James A. King, Sr.; daughters, Linda L. (Kenneth) Morris of Durham, North Carolina, Kathy K. (Richard) King-Metters of College Station, Texas, Janice J. (James) Susak of Elyria; son, James A. (Mary) King, Jr. of Wallingford, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and counting.She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodney and Rhoda Hendrix; sister, Wilda Taylor and a brother, Walter Hendricks. Friends will be received Tuesday November 21, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Friends will also be received Wednesday November 22, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of an 11:00 AM service in the funeral home. Reverend Dalton D. Love will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 312 Third Street, Elyria, 44035 or Friendship APL, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria.
