Phyllis Stephen Obituary
Phyllis M. Stephen (nee Jolley), 85, a long time resident of Elyria, died April 4, 2021 at Wesleyan Village. She was born January 10, 1936 in Manhattan, Kansas to Frank and Minnie Jolley. Phyllis was the former owner of Cedarwood Flowers in Avon Lake and had been a realtor for 32 years. She enjoyed working in her yard, flower gardening and playing golf. Phyllis is survived by daughters, Susan (Dean) Gillespie and Sandra (David) Rothgery, both of Elyria; grandchildren, Danielle and Jeremy Hawkins, Kristina Gillespie, Joshua (Maggie) Hopkins, Jenna (Derrick) Heindel, David (Casie) Rothgery and Devin and Steven Rothgery; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank (Sachie) Jolley; and a sister, Karen Faulkner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Gerald D. in 2010; son, Gerald D. “Stevie” in 1970; parents and a sister, Donna Risley. Friends will be received Friday, April 9, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of a 1:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Stacy Terrell, her nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
