Raymond E. Crisp, Jr., 91, of Sheffield Village and a former longtime Elyria resident, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at EMH HealthcareHe was born January 14, 1921 in Elyria and was a 1938 graduate of Elyria High School. He attended Muskingum College, where he played football and received his bachelors degree from Baldwin Wallace College in 1943.He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific during WWII and in the Marine Reserves during the Korean Conflict, retiring in 1958 with the rank of Major. Raymond was formerly employed at U.S. Steel in Lorain and Sears. He was member of First United Methodist Church and the mens club of the church; Elyria American Legion Post 12 and was a 50 years member of Lodge 787 F. & A.M. and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland. He also enjoyed bowling and golf with his friends.Raymond is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis M. (nee Lemke); daughter Susan (John) Rogers of Port Clinton, Ohio; grandson Shawn Rogers of Tokyo, Japan; sister Nancy (Robert) Scanlon of Seattle, WA and brother-in-law, Frederick Lemke of Washington D.C.He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Edith Crisp, Sr.A private burial service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
