Raymond Malik Obituary
Raymond S. Malik, 79, of Elyria, died August 3, 2015 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born November 27, 1935 in Cleveland, OH and was a graduate of Benedictine High School. Ray received his bachelor degree in education in 1957 from St. Josephs College in Rensselaer, Indiana and continued his graduate studies at John Carroll University. For 16 years, he taught English and was Dean of Academics at Cathedral Latin High School and for several years, taught at Fairview High School. In 1980, Ray continued his career as a corrections officer at the Lorain County Sheriffs Office, retiring in 2000. He was a loving Christian husband, father and grandfather.Ray is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan N.; children Linda Marie Malik Schaffer, Raymond J. Malik, retired U.S. Air force, and Daniel Steven Malik, Sergeant first class U.S. Army; grandchildren Andrew, Amber, Nick, Charlie, Logan, Ben, Zachary, Jordan, Erik, Beatrice and Terrence and great grandchildren Grace, Corbin, Harper and Oliver.He was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Mary Malik and a brother Stanley.A service of remembrance will be Saturday, 4:00 p.m. August 8, 2015 at the family home.
