Regis served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. He was employed by B.F. Goodrich for 40 years. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Elyria Twp. Fire Department. He loved the outdoors and was passionate about duck hunting, fishing, and gardening. He especially loved his prized day lilies. His famous quote his family treasures was “I’ve got things to do!” This meant constantly helping family and friends without being asked. Regis never met a stranger and was always doing random acts of kindness for many. Regis cherished his family more than anything. His wife, Linda, was his best friend. They did everything together and enjoyed traveling the world. They mostly loved spending time with their daughters, sons-in-law, and grandsons. Regis was very proud of his family and rarely missed a swim meet, school function, or his grandsons’ sporting events. He lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by all those who were touched by his presence. Regis is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Linda R. (nee Wransky); daughters, Dawn (Jason) Foley of Westlake, Apryl Saltis of Elyria, and Kristen (James) Petrie of Avon. He was the cherished Papa to his grandsons, Lucas and Landon Petrie. Regis is also survived by a twin sister, Renee (Walter) Kurowski of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly and Regis T. Saltis, Sr.; and a brother, Carl Saltis.
