Richard Calvin Harmon, 88, of Sheffield Lake, OH died June 2, 2019. He was born on September 20, 1930 in Rutherford, New Jersey. He graduated from Lehigh University in 1953 earning a B.S. in Mining Engineering and was commissioned as Second Lt. in the US Air Force Reserve at end of the Korean War. Captain Richard C. Harmon served his country honorably. Dick retired as an executive from Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He will be remembered for his passion for flying, boating, science, history and a love of dogs. Dick is survived by his son, Craig Harmon of Salem, MO; brother Dave (Dottie) Harmon of Asheville, NC; niece Lynette (Al) Canales of Temecula, CA; nephews: Preston Harmon of San Juan PR, Robert (Patricia) Harmon of Asheville, NC; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; grand-nieces Nathania Harmon of Virginia and Ava Harmon of Asheville, NC; grand-nephews, Nathan Harmon of San Juan, PR and Jonathan Harmon of Norfolk, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty K. Harmon in 1977 and his father Herbert F. Harmon in 1998 of Sebring, FL; brother Herbert P. Harmon in 2012; wife of 60 years Arlene Harmon in 2013 of Sheffield Lake, OH. Rest in peace. CAVU.
