Mr. Sharrock was a wonderful principal and a nice man. I saw him not only in school, but I'd stop and chat with him when he was in his front yard at the corner of Stafford and Abbe Road. He would stop what he was doing and chat. He knew most of his students by name. He was good counsel to me, too. I remember complaining about something and him telling me a similar story that happened to him when he was my age, and it put things into perspective. He was not the principal I FEARED. When I did get into a little trouble, again, he kept it in perspective and treated me fairly. He was always calm and composed but he told me exactly what he thought. I wrote to him twice when I was an adult and he answered my letters. He earned all the good things that he enjoyed. I'm a much better person having had his guidance.
