Richard J. Wukie, 93, of Elyria, died January 4, 2023. He was born April 10, 1929 in Elyria, was a graduate of Elyria High School and from 1946-1948 served with the US Navy. Richard was a certified public accountant and for several years he was employed by the Internal Revenue Service. For over 50 years, he owned Richard J. Wukie Tax Consultant on Broad Street in Elyria. He was a 39 year member of Elyria American Legion Post 12. Richard’s hobbies included collecting wheel barrels and old model trucks and also enjoyed painting. Richard is survived by a sister, Catherine M. Henning of Amherst; half brother, Timothy Wukie; half sister, Marilyn Clapsaddle; and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Theresa Wukie; and brothers, William and Eugene Wukie. Friends will be received Monday, January 16, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of an 11:00 am service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Charles T. Diedrick officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain where Elyria VFW #1079 Honor Guard will present military honors.
