Richard Stein Obituary
Richard L. Stein, 87, of Elyria, died, February 9, 2013 at EMH Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born August 19, 1925 in Elyria, was a 1943 graduate of Elyria High School and attended Bowling Green State University and Baldwin Wallace College. Richard was a decorated U.S. Navy Air Corps Veteran of WWII, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and the Liberation of the Philippines. He was employed for 35 years at B.F. Goodrich (Polyone Corporation), retiring in 1984, as senior purchasing agent. After retiring, he took on the job of candy maker for Suzin L. Chocolatier. He was a member of American Legion Post 12 and the Drum & Bugle Corps of the legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and golf. Richard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Rose Rosie; sons, Peter A. Stein of Westlake, David H. Stein of Lakewood and Robert L. (Deborah) Stein of Powell, Ohio; grandchildren, Carleigh (Jason) Morgan of New Albany, Ohio and Johnathan Stein of Arlington, Virginia and cousins, Suzanne Glinka (nee: Morris) and Patrice Nuttall (nee: Terry). A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Ames Family Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, Ohio, 44145 or the Diabetes Association, 3601 S. Green Road, # 100 Cleveland, Ohio, 44122. Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria handled arrangements.
