Richard M. Patyak, 80, of Brentwood Lake, died February 7, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. He was born June 8, 1933 in Elyria and was a 1951 graduate of Elyria High School. Richard served with the US Army stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed as assistant general manager at York International Corp. Richard was a former member of St. Mary Church, Elyria and the former Assumption Church, Grafton and The Holy Name Society of the church. He was a loving father, grandfather and outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening and cooking.Richard is survived by daughters, Susan (Tom) Miller of Springfield, OH and Nancy (Gordon) Comrie of Elyria; son, Jim (Jamie) Patyak of Medina; grandchildren, Candace Comrie and Lauren, Lindsay and Michael Patyak and a sister, Arlene Rader of Elyria.He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty nine years, Carole E. in 2012 and parents Michael and Lola Patyak.A private funeral mass will be Monday 11:00 AM February 10, 2014 at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Charles T. Diedrick will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to Ames Family Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH, 44145-1077. Dicken Funeral Home, Elyria is in charge of arrangements.
