Richard Buttle Obituary
Richard Russell Buttle, Jr., 93, went to be with the Lord November 23, 2011 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange.He was born April 25, 1918 in Lorain and attended Lorain High School, where he played football. He moved to Elyria in 1939, where he lived until moving to Mesa, AZ in 1992. He returned in 2006 to live at the Abbewood in Elyria. During World War II, he served in the Coast Guard Reserves and was employed at Bendix Westinghouse, working on war contracts. He was also employed at Brown Lipe Chapin, a division of General Motors in Elyria, as production engineer and a tool and die maker, retiring in 1982. He was a founding member of the Church of the Open Door and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed spending time with this children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other interests included hunting, boating and motor homingRichard is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jeanette (nee Shrubsole); daughters Jeanne Williams of Elyria, Jayne (Rick) Brekelbaum of Rogers, AR; son Richard Russell Buttle, III of Canfield, OH; grandchildren Reverend Randy (Judi) Williams of Glendale, AZ, Reverend Dr. Robb (Sarah) Williams of Cottonwood, AZ, John (Liz) Brekelbaum of Rockford, IL, Dr. Chad Brekelbaum of Fayetteville, AR, Brad (Nicole) Brekelbaum of Fayetteville, AR, Jonette (Kirk) Gourley of Keithville, LA, Jodi (Stephen) Blyzes of Clarksville, TN, Cory (Amy) Buttle of Sarasota, FL, Emily (Dan) Sipe of Canfield, OH and Ross (Rachael) Buttle of Fayetteville, NC and 20 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Nellie Buttle; daughter Jacquee Buttle and a sister Dorothy Lerner. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of Keystone Pointe, the Abbewood and Tridia Hospice for their care.
