Ricky Lawrence Obituary
Ricky Alan Lawrence, 69, of Elyria, died March 29, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born March 13, 1953 in Elyria and was a 1971 graduate of Elyria High School. Since 2014, he has been the sexton at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Elyria. He was an environmentalist, was a lover of nature and animals and an avid bird watcher. Rick especially enjoyed camping with his family in Hocking Hills. He was an active of member and leader of Friends of Wetlands (FOWL). Rick was also an ardent fan of all Cleveland and local sportsball teams. Rick is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kristine A. (nee Ehlke); son, Matthew Richard (Rebecca) Lawrence of Elyria; daughter, Kali Ann Lawrence of Springfield, OH; grandchildren, Ava Leigh and Ryland Richard Lawrence; mother, Betty J. (nee Hein) Lawrence; siblings, Linda Gasser, Lana (Bob) Judson, Lisa (Neal) Widdowson, Randy Lawrence and Lori (Rodney) Moore; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard R. Lawrence in 2003. Friends will be received Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the time of a 3:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Patrick Nicolino will officiate.
