Robert Strauss Obituary
Robert A. Strauss, 58, of Elyria, died September 23, 2019 in his home. He was born September 4, 1961 in Lodi, OH. He grew up in Vermilion and moved to Mingo County, WV before returning to Elyria in 1989. He was a production supervisor at Superior Roll Forming/Welser in Valley City and was formerly employed at National Fleet, Transglobal Inc., Ohio Screw Products, and Certified Oil Inc. He enjoyed gardening, home remodeling, and spending time with his wife and dog, Dutchess. Robert is survived by his wife and long time sweetheart, Kimberly whom he married October 13, 2012; also surviving are brothers-in-law, Dale Brooks, Joe George, and Stan Black; sisters-in-law, Sonata Black and Niki George; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha; sister, Sandra Brooks; brother, Joseph Strauss; and his beloved canine companion, Dutchess. A special thanks to family and friends for all their support; to Dr. Mark Guay and staff for their exceptional care and respect. Also, thank you to VNA Hospice for their care and support and to Superior Roll Forming/Welser for the cards, calls, texts, and thoughtfulness. Friends will be received Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Friday, September 27, 2019 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Judy Shemkovitz, Spiritual Caregiver at VNA Hospice officiating.
