Robert Avery Alvord-Nicolino's Obituary
Robert Alvord-Nicolino Obituary
Robert Avery Alvord-Nicolino, 30, of Lakewood, died June 18, 2023. He was born February 23, 1993 in Cleveland and was a graduate of Castle High School, Cleveland. As a youngster, Robert spent many years as a student of the Cleveland School of ballet. He danced each year at Playhouse Square in the school’s recitals as well as performances of the Nutcracker. He also performed with the Cleveland San Jose Ballet in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Robert enjoyed fishing. On one occasion he brought home a catfish and added it to a fountain in the yard. This caused a big surprise for Daddy Pat when cleaning out the fountain. Robert was the owner of Family Gutters, Lakewood. He was noted for his meticulous work. Earlier in his career he worked as a salesperson. Robert also excelled in this line of work, given his natural charm and ability to talk with anyone. He loved animals and had a special gift with dogs. He was certified dog trainer and had plans to pursue this field more extensively. He spent many hours exercising and weight training. Robert enjoyed sunsets at Edgewater Park, country music, and his red Mustang convertible, with his Flash license plate. He was a great Dad and spent as much time with his children as possible. Robert valued education and was passing that on as an important pursuit, much to the chagrin of his beautiful daughter Isabella at times. Those who were close to Robert will know that “he was always right”. This of course was debated between he and Daddy Gary, since Robert also knew there is Daddy Gary’s way and the wrong way. Robert loved to debate and banter back and forth. When doing so, his smile and smirk were always present. When Robert loved he loved intensely. He would tell us to continue living and be happy. Sadly, Robert was not able to conquer his own feelings of loss and find a way forward. Robert is loved by so many and we are left to face this tremendous loss. Daddy Gary and Daddy Patrick ask all of those who loved Robert or were touched by his kindness, to take the advise Robert we know would give. Live and be happy. Robert is survived by his parents, Patrick Nicolino and John Gary Alvord; daughter, Isabella; son, Sebastian; sister, Jovan and brothers, Arthur and Oliver. Robert is also survived by other siblings, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as numerous friends. Friends will be received Friday, June 30, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm, First Congregational United Church of Christ, 330 Second Street, Elyria. Reverend Patrick Nicolino will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Cleveland Animal Protective League, 1729 Willey Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44113.VisitationDicken Funeral Home & Cremation ServiceFriday, June 30, 2023 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM 323 Middle AvenueElyria, OH 44035 Celebration of LifeFirst Congregational United Church of ChristSaturday, July 01, 2023 2:00 PM 330 Second St.Elyria, OH 44035
