Robert Burns Obituary
Robert Edwin Burns of Oberlin, OH died on September 10, 2015 after a long battle with COPD. Bob was a New Englander, with strong roots in Vinalhaven, ME, Deerfield Academy, and Dartmouth College. A proud Navy Seaman (AETM) and engineer, he spent most of his career with AT & T in North Andover, MA. He was dedicated to restoring his 1811 home and was an avid naturalist and photography with a strong interest in archaeology. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his daughter and son and their families. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Church of Oberlin on September 19 at 4:00 pm. Burial will be at Pine Knoll Cemetery, Hanover, NH at a future date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bob's memory to Cleveland Clinic Hospice at Home, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH, 44193-1655 or to the American Cancer Society, East Central Division, PO BOX 8008, Dublin, OH 43016-2008. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
