Robert Frederick Walker, 77, of Elyria, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at his home.He was born October 25, 1934 in Oakmont, PA and has been a resident of Elyria most of his life, graduating from Elyria High School in 1953.He served with the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and was employed for 42 years at Columbia Gas Company, retiring in 1996.Bob was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Elyria Senior Fellowship. He enjoyed golf, traveling and was a fan of the Cleveland and Ohio State University sports teams.Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann (nee Murkowski); son Robert A. Walker of Rockville, MD; daughters Sharon (Mark) Koepp and Sandra (Jack) Underwood, both of Elyria; grandchildren, Bo Walker, Kevin and Justin Koepp and Brooklyn and Caitlyn Underwood and a brother Paul A. (Loni) Walker of The Villages, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend William and Viola Walker; brother William Walker and grandson, Collin Underwood. Friends will be received Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of an 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Grace Lutheran Church, 9685 E. River Rd., Elyria, OH 44035. Reverend Robert Welden, Sr. will officiate with burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
