Robert “Bobby” Glenn WardenRobert “Bobby” Glenn Warden, 56, of Carlsbad, CA and formerly of Elyria, died March 8, 2019 at his home in Carlsbad. He was born February 21, 1963 in Asheville, NC and was a 1981 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. He was named Lorain County Mr. Basketball in 1981 and was first team all state. He attended Sheridan Junior College on a basketball scholarship and earned an associates degree. He graduated from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 1985, where he played basketball and competed against future NBA players, Patrick Ewing and Steve Kerr. While at the University, he traveled to Alaska, New York City, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Bolivia. Bobby was formerly employed by Continental Airlines at Cleveland Hopkins and then moved to Southern CA in 1987 where was formerly employed at La Costa Resort in Carlsbad.Bobby is survived by his daughter, Ashley Alden of Indio, CA; parents, Steve and Libby (nee Ballard) Warden; brother, Mike (Debbie) Warden, both of Elyria; sister, Teri (David Bickmore) Warden of ; nieces, Lysa (Chris Helm) Warden and Darsy Warden; nephew, Brian Bickmore; great-niece, Audryana Warden; and uncles, Tom (Beate) Warden and Vincent Ballard.Friends will be received Tuesday March 19, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria, Ohio. Funeral service will be Wednesday March 20, 2019 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Reverend W. Kent Joy Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.
