Robert J. Schreiber, 85, of Elyria, passed away peacefully in his home November 28, 2014 after a lengthy illness.He was born August 14, 1929 in Youngstown and raised in Canfield, OH. Following his graduation from Wittenberg University, Bob served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant aboard the U.S.S. Lloyd.He was Senior Vice President and General Counsel to the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation until retiring in 1983. He later returned to act as chief strategist in coordinating the development of Remington Park Racetrack in Oklahoma City. Bob was an avid sailor, runner, cyclist and woodturner.Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathleen (nee Crowley); sons Eric (Kathy) and Christopher (Toshiko); daughters Laura Lee, Lisa and Lynne, as well as grandchildren Meredyth, Abigail, Grace, Kathryn, Zoe and Erika Schreiber; mother-in-law Leone Crowley and extended family Kevin (Maryann), Timothy (Janette), Brian (Karen), Gregory (Amy), Sheila and Anne Crowley and 20 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents A.T. and Catherine (nee Kahler) and a brother Dr. Jack (Alice).A memorial mass in celebration of his life will be Saturday 11:00 A.M. December 13, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 410 W. Lorain St. Oberlin, OH. Interment will be in Old North Cemetery, Canfield, OH. The Schreiber family expresses their appreciation to the Lorain County Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic for their dedicated service.Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association, P.O.
