Robert Lee “Bob” Howard, Sr., 76, of Elyria, died April 24, 2020 from complications of coronovirus. He was born December 18, 1943 in Elyria and had been a life long resident. For over 30 years, he owned and operated Bob’s Overhead Door, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed NASCAR and had raced at Lorain County and Cloverleaf Speedway. Bob had volunteered as a grounds keeper at Little League South and enjoyed attending flea markets, Cleveland sports, reading, and working with his hands including carpentry. Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Darlena A. (nee McGuire); son, Robert Lee (Kim) Howard, Jr. of Littleton, CO; grandsons, Alex and Nate Howard; twin brothers, James (Cheryl) Howard of Chicago, IL and John (Beth) Howard of Painesville, OH; and sisters, Sylvia (Ed) Gembka of Sandusky and Rosalie Howard of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and June Howard. A graveside service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria with Pastor Rick Stein officiating.
