Robert Dennison Obituary
Robert Walker Dennison of Phoenix, Arizona passed away April 17, 2022, at that age of 91 after declining health over the last few years. He managed his illness with strength and grace and wanted to spend as much time with his family as possible. That final Easter day he died peacefully with his children at this side. Bob was born October 8, 1930, in Elyria, Ohio to Claude Perry Dennison and Jean Wilford Dennison. He is survived by his son William C. Dennison, daughters Vickie Dennison and Cindy Schreiber (David) and grandchildren, Amanda Mowery, Christopher Mowery (Annie), Brandon (Casey) Schreiber, Amanda (Matt) Parsons, Valerie (Jeremy) Sandusky, Leah Schreiber, and seven great-grandchildren, Sam, Luke, Zoey, Owen, Norah, Ava, and Chase. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Nancy, his parents, in-laws, and his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Dennison. Bob attended Elyria High School and after graduation began working as a draftsman at Luxaire Heating in Elyria and later moving to Armstrong Furnace in Bellevue, Ohio. He joined the U.S. Army Reserves and rose to the rank of Sergeant during the Korean War. In 1950, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Hawk. Bob and Nancy loved the west and moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1975 where he worked at Goettl Brothers until retirement. He remained active after retirement and took up pre-war model train restoration and collecting. He was an active member of the Toy Train Operating Society (TTOS) and the Train Collectors Association (TCA). A memorial service will be Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 312 Third Street, Elyria. Reverend W. Kent Joy will officiate. Burial will follow in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, North Olmsted. There are no gallery images.
