Roberta Jones Obituary
Roberta E. Jones (nee Copas), 84, of Elyria, passed away December 8, 2020 at Life Care Center of Elyria. She was born May 26, 1936 in Elyria to Robert W. Copas and Ellen Dorothy Copas and was a 1954 graduate of Elyria High School. Roberta was a homemaker for many years. She later worked part time at the Seven Seas Gift Shop in Midway Mall as well as Hallmark stores. She attended Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Amherst and Ladies Bible Studies of the church. She enjoyed vacationing and walking the beach at Topsail Island, NC. Roberta was a collector of Boyd’s Bears, Cats Meow, and Beanie Babies. She also collected Elyria historical memorabilia. Roberta is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald E.; son, Robert (Debbie) Jones of Elyria; daughter, Donna (Mark) Tanner of Randle, WA; grandchildren, Rachel and Michael Jones, Nikki Jones and James Tanner; great-grandchildren, Mia, Gianna and Kassidy; niece, Christine (Ron) Wagers of Elyria; nephew, Douglas (Kathryn) McNary of Lorain; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas Jones; and her beloved pet cat, Annie. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A service for the family will follow at noon with Al Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. COVID-19 precautions will be observed, face masks are required.
